A modern revival of one of Danner’s classic 1980s trail designs, the Jag Low blends old-school hiking style with lightweight everyday construction. This pair features a Dark Earth suede and abrasion-resistant nylon upper contrasted by Goblin Blue panels and orange detailing, giving it a distinctly retro outdoor look.

Originally introduced in the 1980s as a lighter alternative to traditional heavy hiking boots, the Jag was eventually retired before Danner brought the design back decades later for trail-to-town use.

This discontinued colorway is a great example of the mountain-and-outdoor heritage pieces we look for at Sunrise: functional, well-built and just a little different from what you'll find on the shelf today.

Why We Chose It

Danner has been building outdoor footwear since 1932, and the Jag carries some particularly good heritage DNA.

The original Jag dates to the 1980s—the era of external-frame packs, lightweight hiking gear and classic trail styling. This later Jag Low keeps much of that original character while using a lighter suede-and-nylon construction suited to casual wear and light trail use.

The Dark Earth/Goblin Blue combination is especially good: understated brown suede, vintage-looking blue textile panels and orange accents give these the kind of authentic outdoor aesthetic that fits naturally into the Sunrise collection.

Condition

Good Pre-Owned Condition

These have clearly been worn but remain very presentable. The suede and textile uppers show normal cosmetic wear consistent with outdoor footwear. The Danner Waffle outsoles retain very good tread depth with relatively modest wear.

There is visible wear to the interior heel/collar lining, including a worn area shown clearly in the photos. Insoles also show signs of previous use.

Overall, a solid wearable pair with plenty of character and substantial outsole life remaining.
